Junior dev gets promoted to senior. Senior gives encouraging push. Junior immediately plummets off a cliff into the void because nobody mentioned the promotion comes with zero guidance, impossible expectations, and the sudden realization that Stack Overflow doesn't have answers for "how to architect an entire system while mentoring three juniors and attending 47 meetings per week."
The last panel is particularly brutal—someone from above casually tosses down "tutorials" while the newly-minted senior is already in freefall past a maze of conflicting tech stacks, legacy code, and what appears to be actual cobwebs. Classic sink-or-swim corporate mentorship strategy.
