Naming variables is the true art form in programming. Some devs spend 20 minutes coding and 2 hours naming variables. This poor soul went with the classic progression from "i" to something with actual meaning, but with a twist: • i - The OG loop counter. Minimal effort, maximum tradition. • BAD - When you realize your code might outlive the weekend. • BOY - Now we're getting descriptive! Or... having an existential crisis? • INT - The final evolution: just name it after its type because you've completely given up on creativity. And those incrementing values? That's just how much your tech debt increases with each naming convention. Chef's kiss.

The documentation tells you to name variables based on what they contain. So naturally, if your variable contains an object, you should call it [object Object] . You know, because that's what JavaScript returns when you try to convert an object to a string. Perfect naming convention, right? The joke here is that "" + {} is JavaScript's delightful way of coercing an empty object into a string, which gives you the utterly useless "[object Object]" . It's the programming equivalent of asking someone their name and they respond with "I am a person." Every JavaScript developer has seen this cursed string in their console at least a hundred times, usually when they forgot to properly stringify something. It's become the universal symbol of "oops, I didn't handle this object correctly."

It started simple enough, just html and javascript. Then Cold Fusion. Then java applets. Then java servlets. Then 5 or 6 different Java application servers, EJBs, JSP, struts, XSLT, PHP. But screw all of that. We need Spring. No wait, we need Ruby.and Rails. Wait, we need Query. screw Query. We need AngularJs, and Backbone, and Ember! The world just won't be right until we have 12 different ways to do the same thing in Javascript! Forget all those server-side things you learned. Node js is here! No-wait. F'ck Node. Use Google Go! Honestly how many times are we going to re-invent this wheel? Unless you stay current with all of this nonsense, you basically become unhireable. I'm sure some of you 20 and 30-somethings have already experienced some of this fatigue. Now just imaging 10-15 more years where every 3 years a good portion of what you learned before is now obsolete, and you'll feel like I do.
