Don't Touch My Garbage!

Started coding a "simple hash function" and GitHub Copilot went full existential crisis mode. Started reasonable with "not cryptographically secure, but fast" then spiraled into "not guaranteed to be stable across different phases of the moon" and "different parallel universes." This is what happens when your AI assistant has seen one too many 3 AM debugging sessions. Somewhere in Silicon Valley, a neural network is clearly having PTSD flashbacks from training on StackOverflow comments.

You start with a simple task: "Just change these two lines." Seems harmless, right? Then you hit save and suddenly your IDE explodes with notifications. 20 files changed. 73 insertions. 272 deletions. Your stomach drops faster than production servers during a demo. That "LLM" at the bottom isn't referring to large language models—it's the sound of your soul leaving your body. And now you get to spend the rest of your day figuring out which dependency you just nuked because someone thought tight coupling was a great architectural pattern. Welcome to software development, where "just a small fix" is the biggest lie since "the code is self-documenting."

The neural pathways of a developer's brain have evolved to interpret everything through code-colored glasses. When normal humans hear "Let's create a game together," they think of flirting. Meanwhile, the developer's brain short-circuits and immediately jumps to "Unity or Unreal Engine? I'll set up the Git repo tonight!" No wonder dating profiles don't have a field for preferred programming language - it would be the only thing we'd fill out properly.

Someone turned Git commands into a Spotify playlist, and it's the soundtrack of my existential coding crisis. First you "Pull," then "Push It" (real Salt-N-Pepa style), followed by "Merge" which takes a whopping 6 minutes because merges never go smoothly. Then comes the inevitable "Conflict" track, followed by the desperate "Pull Request" plea to your senior dev. The playlist climaxes with "Blame" and Taylor Swift's "Don't Blame Me" because we all know git blame is just the beginning of the finger-pointing ceremony. Finally, when all else fails, there's "REVERT" and "Cherry Picking" to salvage what's left of your dignity and codebase. This playlist is basically the 9 stages of Git grief.

In this parallel universe, everything's just slightly... off. VScode has gone green, React's lost its atom, Rust is having an identity crisis with those dollar signs, PHP actually looks cool, GitHub's fox is on fire, Ubuntu's gone minimal, JavaScript is... well, still JavaScript (some constants across all universes), and that blue creature is what happens when you let Go's mascot hang out with npm for too long. It's like someone described our tech stack to an AI from 2010 and said "just wing it." The multiverse of tech madness where your pull requests would probably create black holes.

The infinite loop of suffering. You tap an issue in the GitHub mobile app, it opens your browser. The browser, being the helpful little servant it is, detects it's a GitHub link and immediately redirects you back to the app. And thus begins the eternal cycle of digital purgatory. It's like watching two systems play hot potato with your sanity. The app doesn't want to handle it, the browser thinks the app should handle it, and you're just standing there wondering if this is what they meant by "seamless user experience." Whoever designed this UX flow clearly believed in reincarnation because you'll be reborn several times before you actually read that issue. Just use the desktop version and save yourself from this beautifully orchestrated disaster.
