They Make You Stronger

Nothing screams "danger pay" quite like being told you'll be wrapping a COBOL mainframe system. For context, COBOL is a language from 1959 that's still running critical banking and government systems because nobody dares touch them. Creating a wrapper means you're building a modern interface around ancient, undocumented spaghetti code that predates the moon landing. The "then you can leave" energy is perfect because this is genuinely one of those nightmare scenarios where the compensation better be astronomical. You're essentially being asked to become an archaeologist, translator, and diplomat all at once—deciphering cryptic business logic written by programmers who are probably retired (or worse, still maintaining it). The code comments? Non-existent. The documentation? "Ask Jerry, but he left in 1987." Fun fact: COBOL still powers about 43% of banking systems and processes roughly 95% of ATM transactions. So yeah, the pay should be good, because you're literally keeping civilization's financial infrastructure from collapsing.

Oh, the sheer audacity of casually logging into a production environment like you're just checking your email! Watch our hero suit up in the hazmat gear of responsibility, fully aware that running a "vibe query" (read: completely unverified SQL statement) directly in prod is the digital equivalent of juggling chainsaws while blindfolded. The transformation into full protective gear is *chef's kiss* because deep down, you KNOW you're about to potentially nuke the entire database, crash the servers, or accidentally delete every customer record from the last decade. But hey, the query looked fine in your head, right? What could possibly go wrong? 🔥 The final panel of staring through that tiny window? That's you watching the query execute in real-time, praying to every deity in the tech pantheon that you didn't just become the reason for tomorrow's all-hands emergency meeting. Godspeed, brave soldier.

Congratulations, you've just reinvented rubber duck debugging but with extra steps. Turns out, articulating your problem clearly enough for an AI is the same mental process that makes you realize the solution yourself. The real ChatGPT was the brain cells we activated along the way. The irony is delicious - AI researchers discovering that humans think better when forced to explain things clearly. Next breakthrough: water is wet.

The telltale signs of a programmer: nocturnal, caffeine-dependent, and allergic to natural light. The only difference between us and vampires is that we occasionally eat something besides Red Bull and spite. And our code doesn't sparkle in the sunlight—it crashes.

OH. MY. GOD. The absolute TRAGEDY of spending TWO WHOLE HOURS debugging an image upload issue only to discover you've been uploading a SCREENSHOT OF AN ERROR PAGE! 💀 It's like searching the entire house for your glasses when they're on your head the ENTIRE TIME! The universe really said "here's your sign" and slapped this poor soul with the most ironic debugging loop imaginable. The digital equivalent of trying to figure out why your car won't start while holding the keys in your hand!

Content Introducing Shitify. A Reverse Linter. Add errors to your code. Shitify is a new tool that's shaking up the world of software development. It's a reverse linter, which means it adds errors to your code. It's simple to use. Just install it with pm: pm install -g shitify shitify myCode.js Now your code is full of errors! This might sound like a bad thing, but it's actually a great way to test your code. If your code can handle errors, then it's probably robust enough to handle anything. Additionally, Shitify can make you rich when coding smart contracts because - if the opposite of Biggie's maxim "Mo money mo problems" is true - more problems in your blockchain means more money. Disregard bitches, acquire currency! ProdrammerHumor.io
