It’s the sheer and utter lack of skill you are displaying in even beginning to come up with this suggestion. The mindset and way of thinking that befits a successful programmer is mutually exclusive to whatever train wreck this thought came from. It’s such an un-programmer thing to say, that your vile conduct and toxic stubborness are completely overshadowed by the sheer stupdity of it. If a junior said this, it would be time to talk about courses. If a senior said this, they should be fired. If someone with "decades of experience" says this.. well, just shoot me now I hope the "decades of experience" was a lie. That would be your only saving grace at this point. If you truly have decades of experience, and you’re this bad at problem solving, I can only imagine the pain your manager must feel.
