People Still Use PHP

Look, I'm not saying PHP is the reason your production server caught fire last Tuesday, but I'm also not *not* saying it. The drama around PHP never gets old - everyone loves to roast it while conveniently ignoring that like 78% of the web still runs on it. WordPress, Facebook (well, their Hack variant), Wikipedia... they're all out here powered by the language everyone claims to hate. It's the programming equivalent of that one restaurant with a C health rating that somehow has a line out the door every night. Sure, modern PHP 8+ is actually pretty decent with its JIT compiler and typed properties, but where's the fun in acknowledging that? Much easier to blame all of society's problems on a scripting language from 1995.
