Content Things I have learnt from this subreddit as a non programmer - Users just do things that they are not supposed to do and It looks like they are purposely trying to break the code. - Legacy code is written and understood only by gods and they only way to convert it into modern code is to fucking write the thing from scratch. - Jobs require ungodly amount of experience. They want a full stack developer EVERY FUCKING TIME. - Senior devs have given up on life and they just do just enough to get their salaries. They work on production just for the thriller. - There is a communication gap between the client and the programmer just because of the fucking management. - You should never work on the main branch and push things to production but its the norm. - Debugging is staring at the code until it works again. - Programmers just copy and paste code. The only real programmers to ever exist are Terry Davis and some random people who maintain libraries that are responsible for doing math on every computer on the planet. - There is just some mystery code in every codebase that appears to do nothing but when removed sets everything in flames. It is usually commented "Don't touch". - If you ask anything on StackOverflow, Its a stupid question. - Sales teams tell the client that the devs can make everything happen even if its computationally impossible. - Its better to take 5 hours solving bugs rather than spend 5 minutes reading the documentation. Programmers don't have lives anyways. - If you are seeking to learn programming learn JavaScript. The next step is to find a new career

Content Jim devNextDoor i made a terminal alias like: "gpono 1""git push origin 1 --no-verify" now every time I am about to push I type "git push origi.." and then realise I have an alias, so I delete that and write gpono branch thus doubling my time to push. Genius as usual. 12:36 AM Aug 4, 2022 Twitter for Web App 2 Retweets 34 Likes 17

The build tool hierarchy according to C++ developers! BSD Make gets a mild "meh" reaction. GNU Make earns a fancy tuxedo upgrade and approving smile. But NMAKE? That's Microsoft's Windows build tool that makes Pooh show his teeth in pure rage. It's the compiler equivalent of stepping on a LEGO while debugging a memory leak at 3AM. The perfect visual representation of why developers would rather rewrite their entire codebase than deal with Visual Studio's native build system.

Oh sweetie, you think you're going to learn Linux from books ? That's ADORABLE! 📚✨ The REAL Linux education begins at 2AM when you've accidentally deleted your entire boot partition and suddenly become a FORENSIC EXPERT trying to resurrect your digital corpse! Nothing—and I mean NOTHING—will teach you the intricacies of Linux like the sheer panic of seeing nothing but a blinking cursor after reboot! Documentation? Please! The true Linux masters are forged in the flames of catastrophic failure and baptized in the tears of dependency hell! That smile in the second panel? That's not happiness—that's the face of someone who has stared into the abyss of kernel panics and emerged victorious!

Whoever wrote this FAQ has clearly ascended to a higher plane of software licensing enlightenment. They've taken the Apache 2 license—normally a boring legal document—and transformed it into a manifesto for digital anarchism. The beauty here is how they've weaponized open source ideology into literal weapons. "Put it in your ballistic missiles" is peak programmer fantasy—imagining your code has such power that it could display a multilingual "FUCK YOU" before nuclear annihilation. And the final touch—mailing bricks to Richard Stallman while taunting him with a bullhorn—is the chef's kiss of free software rebellion. It's like saying "I'm so free I'll use your freedom against you."
