Let's say those laid off employees cost 750k each (they didn't). That's still less than the cost of rent. I mean couldn't you just get rid of your offices, let your employees work remote, and save lots of money (and jobs)? And wouldn't fewer big companies paying big rents in these tech hubs drive down cost of living in those areas and lead to more affordable housing? And wouldn't you be able to diversify your workforce significantly through going 100 remote? I dunno, I just kinda feel like remote work solves all sorts of problems.
