Reality Is Often Disappointing

OH. MY. GOD. The IDE is not just highlighting the error—it's offering to FIX IT WITH AI! 💀 This is the digital equivalent of handing a junior dev the keys to production and saying "whatever happens, happens!" The computer is literally telling us "children doesn't exist" and then offering to write our code FOR US. Excuse me while I update my LinkedIn profile to "Former Developer" because if AI can debug React props, what am I even doing with my life?! Next thing you know, it'll be writing passive-aggressive comments about my variable naming conventions!

After 15 years of grinding out code, you're faced with two options: compete with the AI overlords who can write a full-stack app while you're still typing "import React," or just give it all up to grow potatoes. The sweaty panic attack is just the realization that both options are equally terrifying. At least the potatoes won't tell you your variable naming convention sucks.

Imagine spending countless hours training your fancy AI only for it to think THAT is a hand accessory. I'm absolutely DYING at the polite "otherwise thanks for your work" after basically saying "your AI is a complete innocent who wouldn't survive five minutes on the internet." Pure comedy gold!

Guy claims his AI assistant is writing 500k lines of code in 2 months while he casually rebuilds Shopify from scratch. Sure, and I'm running NASA from my garage with a Raspberry Pi. The only thing more unrealistic than his 5000 daily AI prompts is thinking Claude would struggle with anything. Next up: "My toaster built the next Facebook, but it burns the edges of my bread."

Remember when FAANG (Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Google) was the cool kids club of tech companies everyone wanted to work for? Well, times change. Now it's GAYMAN - Google, Amazon, Y (probably meant to be Yelp or Y Combinator), Meta (formerly Facebook), Apple, Nvidia. The real joke is how we developers keep creating acronyms for companies that would replace us with an AI in a heartbeat. The irony that Nvidia - the company powering the AI revolution - is now in the club isn't lost on me. Six-figure salaries and free snacks though, so who's complaining?
