Windows is not an operating onto itself, but a program that ruins atop the Dish Operating System, or "DOS". And since DOS is primarily a commandline-based operating system, we created a program that displays other programs in handy visual components on the screen commonly called windows, and hence the name "Windows". Through a peculiar turn of events, the operating system which is widely used today is often called "Windows", and many of its users are not aware that their computer is basically a DOS system, develoved by Microsoft.
