Content How much code does one developer write a day? The last question to answer is; how much code are these people writing? That question is by far the most difficult one to answer concretely. We get a laptop, a phone, a tablet, seventeen cables, and the crushing realization that we're technically "connected" to everything yet somehow still alone. The best part is how accurate the "Connected, No Internet" metaphor really is. Sure, you're surrounded by devices and technically plugged into the digital world 24/7, but are you actually communicating with another human? Nah. You're debugging at 2 AM while your phone charges next to your pillow like it's your significant other. At least the laptop understands you. It doesn't judge when you talk to rubber ducks or when you've been wearing the same hoodie for three days straight.

The duality of software development in its purest form. Users react to working features with the enthusiasm of someone watching paint dry. Meanwhile, developers lose their minds with excitement when their code actually works as intended. It's like watching someone celebrate finding a matching sock versus discovering cold fusion. The bar for developer happiness is so low it's practically a tripping hazard in hell.

So apparently the ONLY scientifically valid metric for measuring code quality is WTFs per minute during code review, and honestly? The accuracy is TERRIFYING. Good code gets you maybe one confused "WTF" every few minutes. Bad code? You're drowning in a tsunami of "WTF IS THIS?!" and "DUDE WTF" faster than you can say "technical debt." It's like the difference between a gentle rain and a category 5 hurricane of confusion. Forget cyclomatic complexity, forget test coverage—if your teammate is muttering expletives at a rate that could power a small generator, you KNOW you've written some truly cursed garbage. The people have spoken, and they're screaming WTF.
