It's Just Like Using Them On A Browser

Dad teaches Billy about money and its importance. Billy takes that lesson straight to heart and... buys a genuine Windows activation key, then donates to a Linux project. The kid understands value better than most senior devs. Because nothing says "I understand economics" quite like paying for Windows when you could just ignore that watermark forever, then turning around and funding the free alternative. Billy's playing both sides so he always comes out on top. Chaotic good energy right there.

Oh, the AUDACITY! Microsoft literally promises you'll be asked to sign in less often if you stay signed in, but then IMMEDIATELY betrays you by asking you to sign in again. It's like someone promising to stop asking if you're okay while actively asking if you're okay. The "Don't show this again" checkbox? That's just decorative at this point. Pure theater. Microsoft's authentication system has the memory of a goldfish with amnesia. You click "Yes" to stay signed in, and two seconds later it's like "New phone, who dis?" Truly the most committed gaslighting in tech history.

Dystopian tech nightmare speedrun: any%. You've got a gaming platform that's somehow merged Steam, PlayStation, Nintendo, and Xbox Live into one unholy monopoly, pay-per-hour gaming subscriptions that make arcade cabinets look generous, and mandatory unskippable ads because apparently we learned nothing from cable TV's death. But the real chef's kiss? An AI-powered OS that's scanning your entire digital history like some overzealous HR department, digging up a 6-year-old Reddit comment where you dared to say "maybe microtransactions are bad actually" and getting you banned from gaming entirely. The surveillance capitalism has come full circle—your own operating system is now your snitch, judge, and executioner. And you're just sitting there, dead inside, because you paid $20 for the privilege of this experience. The future of gaming isn't just bleak; it's a subscription-based, ad-supported, AI-moderated hellscape where even your OS is against you.

Microsoft's subtle art of browser conversion therapy. "Oh no, something vague and unspecified happened to your browser settings! Guess you're using Edge now." The digital equivalent of your grandma replacing your coffee with decaf and insisting it's for your own good. Every Windows update is just Microsoft finding new creative ways to make Edge happen. It's like watching someone try to make fetch happen, but with billions in marketing budget.
