But Why Would You Print Code?!

But Why Would You Print Code?!
THE ABSOLUTE AUDACITY of someone murdering trees just to review code in 2023! My soul literally leaves my body when I witness this prehistoric ritual. Like, have you heard of GitHub? Pull requests? THE INTERNET?! It's the Tom-from-Tom-and-Jerry face of utter disbelief for me. First looking at the paper like "is this for real?" Then that second glance of "did we time travel back to 1995?!" The digital age is SOBBING right now.

Ah, the classic "npm post-install job hunt" saga! The maintainer of core-js (a critical library that half the internet depends on) is literally begging for financial support and a job in the terminal output every time someone installs his package. Fast forward to GitHub where someone opened an issue asking if he ever found employment, only to discover that years later, he's still jobless... and possibly in prison? Nothing says "sustainable open source" quite like maintaining code that powers billions of dollars of tech while simultaneously being unemployed and incarcerated. The real 404 error was the career opportunities that never loaded.

Go Green With Your Code

Go Green With Your Code
The meme brilliantly connects programming language efficiency with environmental consciousness! It's playing on the dual meaning of "energy efficient" - both in terms of computational resource usage AND actual environmental impact. C and Rust are indeed known for their memory efficiency and low-level control, making programs run with less CPU cycles and power consumption than equivalent C++ code in many cases. The image of someone peacefully communing with nature while wearing green (get it?) perfectly captures that smug satisfaction developers feel when they optimize their code. Like, "Yes, I saved 0.002 watts of electricity with my Rust implementation. I'm basically Captain Planet now."
