That moment when someone learns you're in "computer science" and immediately assumes you're tech support. Sure, I can reverse a binary tree, implement a neural network, and debug race conditions, but no, I have absolutely no idea why your laptop makes that weird clicking sound. I mean, I could look at it, but that would set a dangerous precedent where I become everyone's personal Geek Squad. My algorithm for handling these requests is simple: blank stare, slight smirk, change subject.

So you thought buying a $550 PS5 was expensive? Cute. Welcome to PC gaming, where a mid-range GPU alone costs $700 and you haven't even started thinking about the CPU, motherboard, RAM, storage, case, power supply, cooling, RGB strips (mandatory), and the inevitable therapy bills. The face on the right perfectly captures that moment when you realize you've entered a financial black hole where "just one more upgrade" becomes your new mantra. But hey, at least you can run games at 144fps while your bank account runs at 0fps. Still worth it though. Probably. Maybe. Send help.

Nothing says "tech evolution" quite like Valve contradicting themselves after nearly a decade. In 2017, Gabe Newell confidently declared wireless VR a "solved problem" while showcasing their wired headset. Fast forward to 2025, and suddenly they're like "Fine, we'll just build the wireless adapter ourselves" with that signature Valve time™ energy. The irony is delicious. Eight years to go from "it's solved" to "we're solving it now" is peak Valve – the same company that can't count to 3 for Half-Life but can take their sweet time reinventing what was supposedly already fixed.

Nature is beautiful. Here we see a MikroTik switch giving birth to a litter of ethernet cables in their natural habitat. The miracle of life in the server room. Someone clearly had a very productive crimping session and decided the only logical thing to do was arrange their newborn RJ45 connectors in a circle like some kind of networking ritual. Either that or they're summoning the spirits of better upload speeds. Real talk though: if you've ever crimped ethernet cables, you know at least half of these won't work on the first try. Cable crimping has a 50% success rate at best, and that's being generous. The other half will give you intermittent connections that'll haunt your dreams for weeks.

So you've got QLED as the tiny baby elephant, OLED as the massive chad elephant, and IPS just... standing there like a penguin. Because apparently in display technology evolution, IPS decided to take a completely different evolutionary path and said "nah, I'm good being a flightless bird." The old man's confusion is justified. You'd expect display tech to follow some logical progression, but IPS is out here breaking the phylogenetic tree. QLED and OLED are at least in the same family (LED-based), but IPS rolled up to the family reunion as a completely different species with its liquid crystal shenanigans. Fun fact: IPS (In-Plane Switching) is actually older than both QLED and OLED in terms of widespread adoption, so technically the penguin should be explaining things to the elephants. But here we are, with better viewing angles and wondering why we're not invited to the self-emissive party.

Dracula fears the sun. Superman fears kryptonite. PC builders? They fear the forbidden bundle of doom that is the motherboard cable spaghetti. You can bench 300 pounds, survive on coffee and Stack Overflow, but the moment you see POWER SW, RESET SW, HDD LED, and POWER LED staring back at you with their tiny connectors and tinier labels, suddenly you're questioning every life choice that led you here. The manual is useless, your fingers are too big, and you're 90% sure you're about to fry a $500 motherboard because you can't tell positive from negative on a 2mm connector. It's the final boss of PC building, and it never gets easier.
