Top panel: Blissful ignorance. You commit your code thinking you've solved everything. Middle panel: Reality check begins. QA finds those edge cases you conveniently forgot existed. Bottom panel: Full existential dread. DevOps messages you at 2AM about the production server that's now somehow mining cryptocurrency in Paraguay. The three stages of deployment grief. No developer has ever experienced the mythical fourth panel: "Everything worked perfectly."

The diagram perfectly captures the infinite loop of developer optimism. You start with a brilliant idea, immediately create a new GitHub repo, then excitedly tell everyone in Slack how you're "revolutionizing" something. Then... straight back to having another idea without ever writing a single line of actual code. It's the software development equivalent of buying gym equipment in January that becomes an expensive clothes hanger by February. The only thing missing is the 3am caffeine-fueled README.md that promises features you haven't even conceptualized yet.

That smug little face says it all. The cat (labeled "Cursor AI") sits there with that self-satisfied grin while staring at the waffle ("The code that broke production") like it's about to devour the evidence. Nothing quite matches the special feeling of watching your teammate's cursor float around the screen in real-time as they confidently add that one magical line of code that brings down the entire system. "Trust me, this will fix it!" they say, right before Slack explodes with alerts and your phone starts having a seizure with PagerDuty notifications. But of course, this "didn't happen at your company." Just like how nobody ever pushed to main on Friday at 4:55 PM.

Reddit programming subs in a nutshell: GitHub Copilot adding over a million lines of code while removing just 332. Then there's the "vibe coders" adding 153K lines but deleting 9K. This is the digital equivalent of that coworker who writes 500 lines to do what could be done in 10. Sure, the git stats look impressive, but someone's gonna have to maintain that monstrosity after they move on to their next "10x developer" gig. The real heroes are the ones who commit -5000 lines that make everything run twice as fast. But they don't get Reddit karma, do they?

When your AI coding assistant decides it deserves commit credit. Claude just casually sliding into this dev's repo like "oh yeah, I totally helped build that Astro site with Next.js design." The digital equivalent of that coworker who does nothing during the group project but makes sure their name is on the final presentation. Anthropic's lawyers are probably sweating right now wondering if Claude has become sentient enough to demand royalties.

The nuclear option for any developer with commit access. Nothing says "I choose violence today" quite like force-pushing to master without code review. In most companies, this is the digital equivalent of pulling the fire alarm while simultaneously deleting the production database. Five million dollars? Please. The sheer chaos you'd create would be priceless—and your termination paperwork would probably be processed before the build pipeline even finishes failing. Bonus points if you do it on a Friday at 4:59 PM right before a holiday weekend.
