It's Never Just A Small Change

You spent 45 minutes crafting the most elegant regex pattern known to mankind. It works flawlessly. You're proud. Then you look at it six months later and have absolutely zero clue what sorcery you summoned. Not even a comment to guide your future self. Just raw, cryptic hieroglyphics staring back at you like "good luck, buddy." The real tragedy? You'll spend another 45 minutes trying to decode your own genius instead of just rewriting it from scratch. We've all been there—regex is write-once, read-never code at its finest.

Nobody understands why legacy code works. The wizard admits he just copy-pasted from "Arcane Overflow" (StackOverflow) and has no clue what the symbols actually do, but removing them breaks everything. The perfect metaphor for that one critical function in your codebase with the comment "// DO NOT TOUCH - NOBODY KNOWS WHY THIS WORKS". The "magic circle" is just your typical spaghetti code that somehow passes all the tests. And let's be honest, we've all been that wizard - confidently explaining code we don't understand until someone asks one question too many.

Ah, the modern developer's workflow. Empty try block, followed by a catch that just calls OpenAI to fix whatever broke. Why debug your own code when you can outsource your incompetence to an AI? Next up: a ChatGPT plugin that automatically adds this snippet to all your repositories. Efficiency through surrender.
