You know things are going well when developers are expected to take full ownership of their code AND verify AI-generated output, while management just stands there with pitchforks ready for when production inevitably catches fire. The crowd gets bigger and angrier with each responsibility added, but the support? Still zero. Classic case of "you're empowered to make decisions" translating to "you're solely responsible when the merge button sends everything straight to hell." At least they're consistent in their enthusiasm for watching from a safe distance.

The beautiful irony of tech infrastructure: society said electric cars would collapse the grid, but somehow data centers consuming the electricity of small nations to train AI models and mine crypto? Totally fine, completely sustainable, nothing to see here. Your average data center pulls more juice than thousands of Teslas combined, yet nobody bats an eye. But suggest Grandma gets an EV and suddenly everyone's an electrical engineer worried about grid capacity. Meanwhile, ChatGPT is over here burning enough power to light up a city just to tell you how to center a div. Fun fact: A single large data center can consume 50+ megawatts continuously. That's enough to power about 37,000 homes. But sure, Karen's Nissan Leaf is the real problem.

Ah yes, because nothing screams "realistic hacking" quite like Hollywood's fever dream of someone furiously mashing keys at 300 WPM while breaking into the Pentagon. Since 2026 (yes, the FUTURE), AI apparently got so good that it reminds us of those glorious 90s movie hackers who could infiltrate NASA in 45 seconds with nothing but dramatic lighting and aggressive typing. The guy in the pic looks like he's having a full-body experience just opening VS Code. Meanwhile, us mere mortals spend 4 hours debugging why our CSS won't center a div. The "insane skills, speed and motivation" is really just autocomplete doing 99% of the work while we pretend we're Neo from The Matrix.

Someone asked Google's Mythos AI to write a todo app in Python and apparently received a response so profound it broke their entire worldview. Fourteen words. That's all it took. The kind of wisdom that makes you question everything you know about software development and contemplate leaving civilization to seek enlightenment in Tibet. But here's the kicker: they hit the usage limit right after, so we'll never know what cosmic truth was revealed. Did Mythos tell them "just use Todoist"? Did it suggest they reconsider their life choices? Was it a zen koan about the futility of task management? The real tragedy is that humanity may never know what wisdom could shatter a developer's perception of reality. Though honestly, if fourteen words about a todo app send you running to Tibet, maybe programming was getting a bit too intense anyway.

So the master plan to prevent AI from taking over the world is... training it on Reddit. You know, the place where people argue about whether a hot dog is a sandwich and upvote potato salad to the front page. If you want to ensure your AI never becomes coherent enough to pose an existential threat, just feed it a steady diet of r/wallstreetbets DD and r/relationshipadvice threads. By the time it finishes processing "AITA for telling my boyfriend his Vim keybindings are cringe?" it'll be too confused to enslave humanity. Honestly, it's genius. The AI will either develop crippling imposter syndrome or spend all its cycles debating tabs vs spaces. Crisis averted.

The eternal dev dilemma: spend 20 minutes crafting the perfect prompt for ChatGPT explaining your obscure bug... or just Google the error message in 10 seconds. We all dramatically surrender to AI like wounded warriors, only to sheepishly crawl back to Stack Overflow five minutes later. The relationship status between developers and LLMs? "It's complicated."
