It's Not Theft If You Call It AI Training

Remember when AI was our cute little sidekick? Now it's the hulking beast that makes us look like the sidekick. Two years ago we were teaching AI to recognize hot dogs. Today it's writing code faster than I can come up with excuses for why my PR isn't ready. Pretty sure next year I'll be fetching coffee for my AI overlord while it refactors my career into obsolescence. Still, at least I know where the power button is... for now.

Nothing says "increased productivity" quite like inheriting your manager's workload after they got axed for "efficiency gains." Sure, you could've been cranking out AI-generated code like a factory line, but instead you chose the artisanal route of actually writing software. The reward? Congratulations, you're now a developer-manager hybrid with zero pay bump and twice the meetings. The AI was supposed to replace the boring stuff, not create a corporate restructuring speedrun. At least when the AI hallucinates a solution, it doesn't have to attend the retrospective to explain why.

The ultimate video compression algorithm! This dev created a function that identifies and removes "unnecessary" frames from movies—and apparently decided that 99.9999% of Fast & Furious is just excessive explosion footage. The algorithm is technically correct (the best kind of correct)—if you strip out everything except the plot, you're left with approximately 0.042 seconds of content. Reminds me of that time I optimized our codebase by deleting all the comments, whitespace, error handling, and user interface. Ship it!

A beautiful philosophical journey through programming history that somehow ends up blaming AI for creating "vibe coding" bros who will inevitably bring about the apocalypse. The chain goes: C language → good times → Python → AI → vibe coding (you know, that thing where people just throw prompts at ChatGPT and pray) → weak men → bad times → strong men. And we're back to square one. The real kicker? We're currently somewhere between "AI creates vibe coding" and "weak men creates bad times," which means we're all just waiting for the collapse so the next generation of C programmers can rise from the ashes and manually manage memory again. Circle of life, baby.

Sometimes the dumbest solution is the winning solution! This freshman created a poker bot with just two lines of code: if isMyTurn: goAllIn() and absolutely demolished sophisticated algorithms by exploiting their risk-averse logic. The sophisticated bots kept folding to aggressive all-ins, proving that in both poker and programming, simplicity can trump complexity. It's basically the computational equivalent of the "spray and pray" technique—except it actually worked!
