rProgrammerHumor 6 hr. ago amlAProgrammerNow GENTLEMEN, IT IS WITH GREAT PLEASURE TO INFORM YOU THAT I’VE JUST PUSHED MY FIRST API KEY TO GITHUB TODAY ngflip.cor 3.2K 3 Share rgit 3 hr. ago Because you visited this community before Join Remove API key from commit history? Okay so it hasn’t happened yet but due to the nature of some of my projects I already know that it’ll happen eventually and I wanna be prepared for that moment. I know that I could just push another commit removing the key but then the key will still be visible in the commit history. I could generate a new key but that will cause some downtime and I want to avoid that. What is the best way to get rid of the key from the commit history without recreating the entire repo?
