You know that classic life progression chart? Young people have time and energy but no money, adults have money and energy but no time, old people have time and money but no energy. Well, programmers managed to speedrun straight to the worst possible outcome: literally nothing. Not even "reasons to live" made it past 5%.
Sitting there with three monitors of code, dead inside, with bars so low they're practically underground. The career path went from "I'll make cool stuff and change the world" to "I've merged 47 PRs today and I can't remember if I ate lunch." At least retirement sounds nice... if we make it there without burning out first.
The kicker? They even added a "FRIENDS" bar just to twist the knife a little deeper. Because who has time for those when you're on-call every other week?
