Dev Ops These Days

The AUDACITY of these tech recruiters! 💀 Imagine being ONE OF THE ACTUAL CREATORS of Kubernetes and still getting rejected because you don't have enough experience... IN YOUR OWN CREATION! The hiring market has gone completely off the rails! It's like telling Leonardo da Vinci, "Sorry, we need someone with more experience painting smiles." The tragic irony of needing 12 years of experience in a 10-year-old technology is the kind of math that only HR departments can compute. Meanwhile, the poor developer is escorted out like some kind of imposter when they're literally tech royalty. The tech industry's version of "Don't you know who I am?!" gone horribly wrong!

The bell curve of architecture wisdom strikes again! On the left, we have the blissfully ignorant junior dev who's happy with a monolith because they don't know any better. In the middle, the insufferable mid-level architect screaming about microservices like they've discovered fire. And on the right, the battle-scarred senior who's been through enough distributed system nightmares to circle back to "just use a damn monolith." Nothing like spending six months untangling a hairball of 47 microservices communicating through a message queue that nobody understands anymore just to realize it could've been three functions in one repo.

The classic developer journey: compilation passes with zero errors and warnings? Mild satisfaction. Linter comes back clean? Cautiously optimistic. Tests all pass? Now you're getting cocky. Then you deploy to production and nginx immediately hits you with a 502 Bad Gateway like it's been waiting for this moment its entire life. Because apparently your code works perfectly in every environment except the one that actually matters. The progression from "this is fine" to absolute demonic meltdown is spot on. Nothing humbles you quite like a reverse proxy telling you your entire application is garbage.
