A Shitstorm's Brewing

That's right folks, behind the curtain of every "AI" product your CEO is hyping up is just a glorified chain of conditional logic some poor dev had to write at 1 AM while questioning their career choices. Seven years of computer science education to write if(user_says_hello) return "Hello there!" but with better variable names.

When your code is so broken that even Stack Overflow can't help, just dump the entire codebase into an AI and pray. Because nothing says "professional developer" like outsourcing your debugging to a chatbot that will happily refactor your spaghetti code into slightly more organized spaghetti code. The modern equivalent of "have you tried turning it off and on again?" is now "have you tried asking an AI to fix it?" Next up: submitting your entire Git repo as a prompt.

The iceberg metaphor is painfully accurate. After 15 years in the industry, I can confirm that typing out the actual code is the easy 10% that everyone sees. The other 90%? That's the soul-crushing existential void of figuring out what to code in the first place. AI can generate syntax all day long, but good luck getting it to understand the business logic buried in 47 conflicting Slack messages, 3 outdated Jira tickets, and that one crucial requirement your PM mentioned offhandedly during a coffee break last Tuesday.

The duality of Google's AI strategy in its full glory! Upper text: "25% of new Google code is AI-generated." Lower graph: "Massive spike in Google outages." That red spike isn't just a graph—it's the visualization of what happens when your AI autocompletes semicolons with emojis and replaces error handling with "try { } catch (e) { // TODO: fix later lol }". Correlation doesn't imply causation... but that spike is suspiciously vertical right when the AI started writing production code. Coincidence? I think not!

The classic tech panic bait-and-switch! First half: "AI is coming for your jobs, web devs! DSA knowledge? Useless. MERN stack? Dead. Only learn ML and chase whatever shiny new tech appears on the horizon!" Then the punchline drops: "The more terrified everyone is, the fewer people will compete for jobs... which means more job security for me ." It's the programming equivalent of telling kids the ice cream truck only plays music when it's out of ice cream. Pure psychological warfare disguised as career advice!
