I Have Never Seen This Question In My Life

The evolution of tech support in four painful panels. Reddit: "Stupid." Stack Overflow: "Your question is off-topic." AI chatbot: "That's a very good question." Meanwhile, the kid is asking how to prevent screenshots on a website—something technically impossible but AI will happily pretend it's doable. The cycle of dismissive tech help is broken, but only because AI doesn't know when to say no. Progress?

The coding hierarchy of life, beautifully illustrated through Noah's Ark. At the top, we've got StackOverflow - the mighty elephant carrying us all. The giraffe reaching for those YouTube tutorials when all else fails. Meanwhile, documentation sits there like a wise old man nobody listens to. Then there's the middle tier: GitHub code (somewhat reliable), professor's code (theoretical at best), your friend's code (questionable but free), and your actual code (we don't talk about that). But when the client shows up? Suddenly that horrific amalgamation of duct tape and prayers you call "working code" becomes your prize exhibit. And the client, bless their heart, still asks "what the hell is this?" - as if they expected actual software engineering instead of the digital equivalent of a panic attack.

That moment of existential crisis when you realize you're either training your replacement or your future headache. Nothing like wondering if this new dev will be the one who actually reads documentation or just another copy-paste warrior who'll break production with Stack Overflow solutions. The real question isn't whether they're smart—it's whether you'll spend the next six months fixing their "creative interpretations" of your codebase.

You just wanted a cheap laptop to browse eBay and maybe run VSCode. Instead, you got three different experts each flexing their superior knowledge while completely ignoring what you actually need. First guy's living in 2005 thinking people still hunt for mice. Second one's out here gatekeeping with "nobody hunts mice these days" like it's some forbidden ancient practice. Third dude recommends starting with deer—because why get a $400 laptop when you can clearly afford a $2000 MacBook Pro, right? And the horse just goes full nuclear with buffalo, probably suggesting you build your own laptop from scratch using Arch Linux and custom firmware. This is literally every tech forum ever. Ask for a budget solution, get recommended enterprise-grade overkill. Just wanted a Honda Civic, got told to buy a Tesla.
