Incoming Personal Attack

When your code works but you have absolutely no idea why:

Your brain: "I don't have a clue what I'm doing."
Also your brain: "It must be imposter syndrome!"
Colleague who actually knows what they're doing: "Nope, just incompetence."
You, doubling down: "Definitely imposter syndrome."

The beautiful cycle of self-delusion that powers 90% of production code. At least incompetence is honest - imposter syndrome requires you to first be competent enough to recognize your own shortcomings.
