Ubuntu really said "you know what? Screw the newbies, we're going corporate." The distro that used to be the golden recommendation for Linux beginners just pivoted harder than a startup changing its business model. Now their homepage is all about "bare metal in private clouds" and "enterprise open source" with AWS logos plastered everywhere. Meanwhile, some poor soul just wanted to know if Ubuntu would run their WiFi drivers. The community watching this transformation is like witnessing your chill friend suddenly show up in a suit talking about synergies and KPIs. RIP beginner-friendly Ubuntu 2004-2024, you had a good run. Linux Mint is now carrying that torch while Ubuntu chases enterprise contracts.
Ubuntu Is Not For Beginners Anymore. Try Mint.
