Docker basically said "you know what, let's just containerize everything and pretend dependency hell doesn't exist anymore." Now instead of debugging why Python 3.8 works on your laptop but the server is still running 2.7 from 2010, you just wrap it all up in a nice little container and call it a day. Problem solved. Sort of. Until you have 47 containers running and you've forgotten what half of them do.
