The Pain Of Reading The Solution Too Late

Content chrisk5000 chrisk5000 Almost made fun of an electrician today like "is it an electrician's guild rule that you have to perform 5 minutes of ritual complaining about What Was The Previous Electrician Thinking before you're allowed to fix anything?" but then I remembered I'm a software engineer 6:25 PM Nov 15, 2018 Twitter Web Client 586 Retweets 2.4K Likes

Someone's complaining about camelCase while writing a function that could be replaced with return number % 2 == 0 . The irony is thicker than the stack of unnecessary if statements. This is what happens when you optimize for LinkedIn engagement instead of code efficiency. Must be nice having that much time between standup meetings.

Can't have relationship drama if you're in a committed relationship with your IDE! The beauty of programming is that your code doesn't ask "where this is going" at 2 AM, just throws syntax errors instead. The classic programmer's tradeoff: exchange human connection for the sweet dopamine hit of solving a bug after 8 hours of debugging. Sure, your friends are out there "living life" and "experiencing joy," but you've got something better—a perfectly organized folder structure and a terminal that actually listens when you speak. Who needs sunlight when you have the warm glow of three monitors?

The ultimate software development lifecycle in one image! What starts as a squashed wasp "integrated into the tracks" transforms into a celebrated feature. This is the perfect metaphor for when you accidentally introduce a bug, can't fix it properly, so you document it as an "intentional feature" in the release notes. The commit message probably read: "Refactored insect integration module, optimized for railway environments." Classic case of "it's not a bug, it's an undocumented feature" taken to a hilariously literal level!
