For the blissfully unaware: in programming, particularly in Unix/Linux systems, a "fork" creates a "child process" from a "parent process." And sometimes those children need to be... *dramatic whisper* TERMINATED. It's not murder, it's MEMORY MANAGEMENT, KAREN! 💅
