The five stages of grief hit differently when reviewing your own code from yesterday. First comes the nervous finger-biting, then the slow realization, followed by the blank stare of disbelief, then the "oh god what have I done" face-palm, and finally the existential horror of knowing you have to fix whatever abomination you unleashed. The worst part? You were probably so proud of that "clever" solution when you wrote it. Ten hours and three coffees later, and suddenly you're archaeologist of your own terrible decisions.

The AUDACITY of my past self, making promises my future self can't cash! Here I am, crossing out "NOTHING" on my to-do list and writing "I'LL DO IT LATER" like some kind of time-traveling con artist! The eternal cycle of procrastination that haunts every developer's existence - promising ourselves we'll refactor that spaghetti code tomorrow, document those functions next week, or fix those 47 deprecation warnings someday in the mythical land of "when I have time." Spoiler alert: that time NEVER comes! We're just writing checks our future selves will dramatically sob while trying to cash! 💀

What documentation? But the moment that sales call starts, you transform into the world's most enthusiastic product evangelist. "I love this product!" you declare with the confidence of someone who definitely didn't spend last week crying into their keyboard while trying to trace a bug through 47 nested if-statements. The duality of being a technical expert is truly chef's kiss. Internally, you're one refactor away from burning it all down and starting fresh. Externally, you're selling it like it's the Second Coming of Clean Code. The customer will never know that behind your calm, professional smile lies the soul of someone who has seen things... terrible, unmaintainable things.
