That's the 47 Stack Overflow tabs, the 3 AM debugging sessions, the refactoring you did because past-you was an idiot, the meetings about meetings, the dependency hell, the "works on my machine" investigations, and that one regex you copied without understanding but are too afraid to touch now. Your manager sees the tip. Your therapist hears about the rest.

You know that feeling when someone calls IT support and they just... add more support pillars instead of fixing the actual foundation? That's what we're looking at here. Instead of addressing the root cause—that sketchy, deteriorating original pillar that's clearly on its last legs—someone just kept slapping on new pillars around it. "Can't fail if we just keep adding more infrastructure, right?" It's the architectural equivalent of wrapping your production code in try-catch blocks instead of fixing the bug. Or adding more servers when your O(n³) algorithm is the real problem. Sure, it technically works and the bridge hasn't collapsed yet, but everyone knows this is a ticking time bomb. The original issue is still there, just propped up by layers of band-aids and prayers. Every IT department has been here—patching, duct-taping, and "temporarily" fixing things that become permanent fixtures. Ten years later, nobody remembers why there are five support pillars, and everyone's too scared to touch them because "if it ain't broke... well, it IS broke, but it's WORKING broke."
