Unpopular Opinion: Most Electron Apps Can Be Built With Nice UI & Performance In Rust Or C++

The person who invented HTTP status code 418 ("I'm a teapot") single-handedly disproved the notion that veteran developers lack humor. While regular programmers were busy writing boring if-else statements, this legend was embedding an April Fools' joke directly into internet protocol standards that would confuse junior devs for generations. It's the programming equivalent of dad jokes achieving immortality through RFC documentation. The kind of brilliant absurdity that makes you question if you're hallucinating while debugging at 3 AM.

When the real horror isn't the undead horde breaking down your door, it's the thought of your dev server credentials getting leaked on some sketchy forum. Because nothing says "apocalypse" quite like having your staging environment exposed to the internet with admin/admin as the login. The zombies are being oddly polite about it though—at least they're giving you a heads up instead of just dumping everything on Pastebin. Professional courtesy among the undead, I guess. Still beats getting a Shodan alert at 3 AM because someone left port 3000 open to the world. Pro tip: If zombies can find your dev server, so can hackers. Maybe rotate those credentials before the next wave hits.

Backend casually hands over a perfectly clean 200 OK response to Frontend. Simple, elegant, beautiful. Then Frontend reads the actual error message buried inside that 200 OK body and realizes Backend just wrapped a failure in success clothing. Classic backend move—technically correct (the best kind of correct) but absolutely infuriating for anyone trying to handle errors properly on the client side. Nothing says "I don't understand HTTP status codes" quite like returning 200 for literally everything. Bonus points if the error details are nested 5 levels deep in the JSON response under a key called "status" or "success: false". Because why use the protocol as intended when you can reinvent the wheel inside the response body?
