It Looks So Real!

NVIDIA's DLSS 5 taking "fake it till you make it" to a whole new level. The left side shows a beautifully rendered game character, while the right reveals what's actually being rendered underneath—a real human actor. At this point, graphics cards aren't even rendering anymore, they're just streaming Netflix footage and calling it ray tracing.

For context, DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) uses AI to upscale lower resolution images to look like higher resolution ones. Started as "render at 720p, display at 1080p" and now we're apparently at "just film a person and slap some shaders on it." Can't wait for DLSS 10 where your GPU just hires actors to perform your game in real-time.

The funniest part? Your $1500 GPU is basically running a very expensive video player with extra steps. But hey, 240 FPS is 240 FPS, who cares if it's real or hallucinated by an AI model trained on stock footage?
