The dark magic of build systems strikes again! Kitware, the company behind CMake, somehow claims 24 million users despite no one ever voluntarily identifying as a "CMake user." It's like that moment when you realize you've been drafted into an army you never signed up for. The Saruman imagery is perfect because using CMake feels exactly like staring into a mysterious orb that shows you cryptic error messages while slowly draining your will to live. We all just wanted to compile our code, but instead we're part of some grand arcane ritual.

You're out here living your best life, running that decade-old game at 4K ultra settings with supersampling like the graphics god you've become. Your RTX 4090 is practically yawning. Then BAM—the devs decided to bless you with a pre-rendered cutscene from 2007 that looks like it was encoded on a potato using a dial-up connection. Suddenly you're transported from visual paradise to watching Minecraft Steve's distant cousin through a screen door made of vaseline. The whiplash is REAL. Nothing says "immersion breaking" quite like going from photorealistic explosions to counting individual pixels on someone's face. Game developers really said "let's make the gameplay gorgeous but store cutscenes on a floppy disk" and called it a day.

So AWS proudly announces that AI writes 75% of their production code, and then their engineers wonder why everything's on fire? Classic. When "Claude" (their AI) responds with enthusiastic agreement to fix production issues, it's basically Elmo cheerfully presiding over the flames of digital hell. Welcome to the future of cloud computing, where your critical infrastructure is maintained by the digital equivalent of a pyromaniac puppet who's just happy to be included in the conversation. Next time your AWS-hosted site goes down, remember: it's not a bug, it's an AI-generated feature!
