It's the universal first step in troubleshooting literally anything network-related. Website not loading? Check DNS. Email not working? Check DNS. Coffee machine offline? Probably DNS. The best part is imagining confused cops running this plate and getting absolutely nothing because, well, they should probably check their DNS configuration first.
