The crying cat meme perfectly captures the existential crisis of Java developers who watched other technologies get praised while Java 8 (released in 2014!) was treated like that weird uncle nobody talks about at family gatherings. Despite introducing lambdas and streams that dragged Java kicking and screaming into modern programming, it still gets none of the nostalgic love. The tech equivalent of "we have Java at home."
