Released in 2017 for $699, it became the card that refused to die, meaning fewer people felt the need to upgrade to the overpriced 20-series and 30-series cards. From a business perspective, Nvidia basically shot themselves in the foot by making something too good—planned obsolescence who? The card's longevity became a running joke in the PC building community, with people clinging to their 1080 Tis like Gollum with the One Ring. Nvidia learned their lesson though: never again would they make a card this cost-effective and future-proof.

Nothing says "tech evolution" quite like Valve contradicting themselves after nearly a decade. In 2017, Gabe Newell confidently declared wireless VR a "solved problem" while showcasing their wired headset. Fast forward to 2025, and suddenly they're like "Fine, we'll just build the wireless adapter ourselves" with that signature Valve time™ energy. The irony is delicious. Eight years to go from "it's solved" to "we're solving it now" is peak Valve – the same company that can't count to 3 for Half-Life but can take their sweet time reinventing what was supposedly already fixed.

That power button—SANDWICHED between Print Screen and Delete—is just BEGGING to shut down your computer right when you're about to save that code you've been working on for 6 hours straight! One tiny finger slip and POOF! Your masterpiece vanishes into the digital void! It's like putting a self-destruct button next to the coffee cup holder. Pure keyboard TERRORISM! 💀

When the IT department says they're "working VERY HARD" on your ticket, but really it's just two kittens playing inside your computer! 😂 This is what happens when you hire junior devs straight out of coding bootcamp! They're cute but have absolutely no idea what they're doing—just pawing at random components and hoping something works! The best part? Your "critical system failure" is now a "catastrophic" one! At least when they break something, you can't even be mad about it!

Previous generation at 23: "Let's buy a house and plan for our growing family!" Developers at 33: "If I save $100 a month, I might afford that GPU that'll be obsolete before I finish typing this sentence." Nothing says "I've made it" quite like calculating how many Cup Noodles you need to skip to afford hardware that'll run your poorly optimized code slightly faster. Financial planning at its finest!

The dystopian nightmare we're all hurtling towards at breakneck speed! Big Tech really out here trying to convince us that owning hardware is SO last century, darling. Why buy a computer when you can just subscribe to one for the low, low price of your entire paycheck every month until the heat death of the universe? But us crusty developers? We're clinging to our actual physical machines like they're the last lifeboats on the Titanic. You can pry my locally-owned PC from my cold, dead, carpal-tunnel-riddled hands! We didn't survive the transition from floppy disks to cloud storage just to become eternal renters of our own workstations. The audacity of thinking we'd give up root access to our own machines!
