Dear GPU Designers, Please Stop Doing This

The eternal PC builder's dilemma in its purest form. Left side: "4 Reasons to NOT Vertically Mount Your Graphics Card" with a 20-minute video. Right side: "2 Reasons to Vertically Mount Your Graphics Card" with a photo that's basically just "look how pretty it is." Let's be honest, we all know the 20-minute technical analysis doesn't stand a chance against "shiny thing look good." I've built dozens of PCs and still mount GPUs vertically despite knowing it's probably 2-3°C warmer. Function follows form when you have a glass side panel and RGB everything.

When you finally get OpenGL rendering working after three days of segfaults and "undefined reference" errors, and everyone's impressed by the pretty particle effects while you're sitting there proud that your GPU is actually doing the work instead of melting your CPU. They think it's about the visuals. You know it's about that sweet, sweet hardware acceleration and those glorious 60 FPS with 2% CPU usage. Oh honey, forget your biological gender symbols—programmers have transcended mortal labels and evolved into their TRUE FORM: a USB symbol. Because nothing represents the programmer experience quite like trying to plug yourself in three times before you finally fit into society. The USB symbol perfectly captures our existence: we're universal, serial, and we bus our way through life. Plus, just like USB connections, programmers only work properly after being flipped twice and questioned extensively about compatibility issues. Gender? Nah.
