The eternal pain of trying to build a budget gaming PC in 2024. Mom wants to keep it under $500 for a gaming rig, which in today's GPU market is basically like trying to compile a massive C++ project on a Raspberry Pi Zero—technically possible, but you're gonna suffer. The GPU alone will eat that budget faster than a memory leak consumes RAM. The brother's face says it all: he knows he's about to get a PC that can barely run Minecraft at 30fps while his friends are out here with RTX 4090s. At that price point, a PS4 is genuinely the more sensible option. You'd get better performance gaming on a console than whatever Frankenstein build you could cobble together with a $500 budget after buying a case, motherboard, CPU, RAM, storage, and maybe—maybe—a used GT 1030 if you're lucky. Sometimes the console peasants are actually the smart ones.
