Someone opened a GitHub issue titled "Love #822" with the message "I need a gf" only to have it promptly closed as "not planned" by a contributor who replied "Sorry to hear that." Romance: the one feature request that even the most comprehensive project roadmap doesn't include. Trust me, I've been maintaining codebases longer than some of you have been alive, and relationships are the one dependency that never resolves cleanly.

The fifth developer is the one who wrote the code being reviewed. Nothing quite like watching your peers beat your spaghetti code to death with sticks while you crawl on the ground wondering why you didn't add those comments they suggested last time. Just another Tuesday in software development.

Nothing says "I've made it" like a single random dev deciding your code isn't completely terrible. It's the programming equivalent of being knighted by the Queen. That smile in the second panel is every developer who finally convinced someone besides their mom that their spaghetti code has potential. The bar is literally on the floor, and we're still celebrating clearing it.

We all pretend to understand Git's elegant theory, but when push comes to shove (pun intended), we're just typing incantations and praying to the version control gods.

The most satisfying commit message you'll ever write: "Deleted 2,000 lines of legacy code." Somehow removing code feels more productive than writing it. The real 10x developers aren't the ones cranking out features—they're the ones brave enough to hit delete on that monstrosity everyone's been afraid to touch since 2017. Negative lines of code should be on your performance review.

The eternal struggle of game developers everywhere: trying to spot the difference between CRLF and LF line endings while Perforce gleefully ignores them as "identical" during merges. Nothing like spending 3 hours debugging why your build is failing only to discover it's because Windows and Unix decided to have a philosophical debate about how lines should end. And yet somehow, this prehistoric version control system that can't tell the difference between line endings is still the industry standard. Legacy code and "but we've always done it this way" strikes again!
