The irony is absolutely delicious here. You spend all day implementing physics engines, debugging collision detection, optimizing render pipelines, and crafting AI behavior trees... but when it comes to actually playing games? That garbage bin has better hand-eye coordination than you do.
It's the classic case of the cobbler's children having no shoes. Game devs are too busy crunching on their own projects, staring at the same three test levels for months on end, and playtesting broken builds to actually git gud at finished games. By the time you ship, the last thing you want to do is pick up a controller.
Plus, knowing how the sausage is made kind of ruins the magic. You can't enjoy a boss fight when you're mentally debugging why the hitbox feels off.
