Name The Game

The classic software development saga in three acts: Act 1: "We found a bug! Here's a bizarre workaround that makes no logical sense." Act 2: "After thorough investigation, we've confirmed the bizarre workaround actually works. Please use it." Act 3: "After further investigation, we've determined our workaround does absolutely nothing. We have no idea what's happening." Every developer who's ever shipped code is nodding right now. The correlation-causation fallacy is basically a required skill on résumés at this point.

Left side: "My code is self-documenting!!" with a sketch of someone looking distressed at the lowest end of the IQ bell curve. Middle: Actual documentation with detailed comments about monster attack algorithms in a game. Right side: Someone who just writes "// this is bridge" next to a drawing of a bridge, sitting at the other low end of the IQ curve. The perfect balance? The 130+ IQ person with comprehensive, helpful comments that actually explain the why behind complex game logic. The eternal developer struggle: write no comments and claim "self-documenting code," write useless comments stating the obvious, or be the rare specimen who documents the intent and reasoning. Most of us oscillate between all three depending on how much coffee we've had.

Ah, the mythical "3" in software – where dreams go to die. Just like gamers waiting for Half-Life 3 or Battlefront 3, programmers know the pain of Python 3 migration hell, IPv6 adoption (because we skipped IPv5), and that one legacy codebase that will never reach version 3.0. Meanwhile, we're all still using workarounds from Stack Overflow posts from 2011.

When your competitor's launcher is so broken it becomes your best marketing strategy! EA's launcher had one job - recognize purchased games - and somehow failed spectacularly at launch day. Meanwhile, Steam's platform just works™ and Gabe Newell (Steam's founder) collects his 30% cut from all those sweet, sweet refund-and-rebuy transactions. Task failed successfully!

Nvidia's product segmentation strategy has reached galaxy brain levels. The RTX 6040 Ti with 4GB costs $399, but wait—if you want 6GB, that's $499 and you gotta wait until July. Or you could get the base RTX 6040 with... well, who knows what specs, for $299, also in July. It's like they're selling you RAM by the gigabyte with a free GPU attached. The best part? They're calling this the "40 class" when we're clearly looking at a 6040. Nvidia's naming scheme has officially transcended human comprehension. At this rate, by 2027 we'll be buying graphics cards on a subscription model where you unlock VRAM with microtransactions.

While normies are out there popping champagne and kissing strangers at midnight, we're here grinding that MMR or finishing that side quest.
