The Benefits Of Open Source

So you spent 4 months building without version control and let an AI code editor nuke your entire project? That's... actually impressive in the worst way possible. For context: Cursor is an AI-powered code editor that can autonomously modify your codebase. Think of it as giving a very confident intern full write access to production. This developer asked Cursor for a "view on my UI" and it apparently decided the best feedback was complete annihilation. The real kicker? They're asking how to "back up projects/versions" AFTER the disaster. My friend, the answer is Git. It's literally been around since 2005. You know what else happened in 2005? YouTube launched. You've had two decades to learn this. The self-awareness of calling themselves a "moron" is refreshing though. At least they know. Now they get to rebuild 4 months of work while learning what every bootcamp teaches on day one: commit early, commit often, and maybe don't let AI tools have unrestricted access to your life's work.

The perfect definition doesn't exi-- Welcome to the twilight zone of software development, where you've read 37 Stack Overflow posts, watched 14 YouTube tutorials, and somehow your code still fails spectacularly for reasons beyond mortal comprehension. That magical moment when you remove a semicolon and suddenly everything works? Pure sorcery. The next day you'll add that same semicolon back because now the code doesn't work without it. Computer science degrees should come with a free therapy session voucher. "Nothing works and we don't know why" isn't just a punchline—it's our daily standup meeting.
