Beautiful history

Ah, the modern "programmer" who only knows how to prompt ChatGPT. Nothing says "I've mastered coding" like typing "Write me a function that..." instead of actually learning syntax. Ten years of experience? More like ten minutes of experience with an AI that does the heavy lifting. The rest of us spent years debugging pointer arithmetic while these folks are getting violently rejected at technical interviews the moment someone asks them to reverse a linked list without digital assistance.

Ah, the classic "fake it till you make it" approach to tech interviews! That moment when you claim to be a Java expert on your resume, but in reality you've just finished your first "Hello World" tutorial. The interviewer's face when they find out you've been "mastering" Java for a whole TWO WEEKS is priceless. This is basically the tech equivalent of claiming you're fluent in French because you can say "omelette du fromage." Pro tip: when they start asking about garbage collection and JVM optimization, just cough uncontrollably and pretend your Zoom froze.

Oh, the cruel irony of our profession! Learning new code is this nice, steady climb up the stairs—methodical, structured, one step at a time. You're taking notes, building projects, feeling like a productive member of society. But forgetting code? That's a CATASTROPHIC AVALANCHE straight down Mount Everest. You blink once and suddenly you can't remember how to reverse a linked list. You take a two-week vacation and come back not knowing what a for-loop is. The rate at which knowledge exits your brain is frankly offensive and should be illegal. The stairs vs. slope comparison is painfully accurate—it takes MONTHS to learn a framework, but approximately 47 seconds after your last commit for you to completely forget its entire API. Your brain is basically a leaky bucket, except the leak is the size of the Grand Canyon.

The classic developer deflection technique in action. Your build fails spectacularly, and instead of checking your own code, you immediately call up your teammate to remind them about their "broken" bugfix that wasn't even deployed yet. The deployment hasn't even happened, so their changes are literally sitting in a branch somewhere, completely innocent. It's the programming equivalent of blaming the person who hasn't even entered the room yet for the mess on the floor. The build failed because of YOUR code that's currently running, but sure, let's preemptively blame the guy whose changes are still in code review. Classic CI/CD panic response: when in doubt, point fingers at anything but your own commit from 5 minutes ago.

Someone tried to roast FFmpeg for having a "messy codebase" and got absolutely demolished with the most brutal comeback in open-source history. FFmpeg's response? "Talk is cheap, send patches." That's the beauty of open source right there. You can't just throw shade at a project that literally powers half the internet's video infrastructure—from Netflix to YouTube to your grandma's video editing app—and expect them to care about your opinion. FFmpeg is written in C and assembly because it needs to squeeze every last CPU cycle out of your hardware to decode 4K video without melting your laptop. The tweet went viral with 200K views because it's the perfect encapsulation of the open-source ethos: put up or shut up. Don't like the code? Fork it. Fix it. Submit a PR. Otherwise, you're just another armchair architect who's never had to optimize a hot loop in their life. This is the energy every maintainer wishes they could channel when dealing with drive-by critics on GitHub.
