She Could Commit

The graveyard of abandoned repositories grows by one every time someone says "I should build a quick tool for that." Those apples represent the countless projects started with enthusiasm, only to be abandoned after the initial commit. The kid is already eyeing the next shiny project while the previous ones rot quietly on the digital shelf. My GitHub profile is basically a museum of good intentions with terrible follow-through. The README.md files should just read "Temporarily abandoned until I feel guilty enough to open this again in 2027."

Welcome to the Linux kernel's GitHub page, where the pull requests are apparently doubling as Tinder profiles. Nothing says "I understand open source contribution" like announcing your relationship status in a PR title. What's next? "Fixed memory leak, also I do CrossFit"? "Optimized driver code, btw I'm vegan"? "Patched security vulnerability, anyone want to see my cat pics?" And 504 open PRs? Linus must be having an aneurysm somewhere. The only thing getting merged here is desperation with code.

And finally, the dark side. When you've stared into the abyss so long you've become one with it. rm -rf repo is no longer a tragedy - it's SWEET RELEASE. The bell curve doesn't lie, darling. We all end up in the same Git hell eventually. Resistance is FUTILE!

The Indiana Jones of software development! Carefully eyeing that golden idol of "existing code" like it's a sacred relic, only to swap it with your "new commit" and trigger the boulder of doom—the linter. That moment when you think you've perfectly calculated the weight of your code replacement, but forgot about those pesky tabs vs spaces arguments. Now you're sprinting through the codebase with angry code reviewers throwing spears at your PR. Should've read the tribe's ancient documentation first!

The eternal struggle of every developer who's been in the trenches long enough. Sure, some folks keep their code private because it's their golden goose—fair enough, capitalism and all that. But some of us? We're just hiding the digital equivalent of duct tape and prayers that somehow passes code review. The real 10x engineers aren't the ones with proprietary algorithms; they're the ones brave enough to let the world see their 3 AM solutions with variable names like 'temp2', 'finalFinalActuallyFinal', and comments that just say 'TODO: fix this garbage later'.
