Dev testing is only testing

When the job posting says "Junior Developer - 0-2 years experience" but also requires "Expert in 17 frameworks, machine learning, quantum computing, and ability to debug code by smell alone." That's how we end up with this 55-year-old "junior" looking like he's seen some shit. By 2025, entry-level positions will require you to have invented time travel just to acquire the necessary experience. The name tag is just the cherry on top - "AI Technician" because apparently, that's what we're calling "copy-pasting from Stack Overflow with extra steps" these days.

The AUDACITY! Imagine being a junior dev who dares to use autocomplete for a simple console.log() statement while your principal engineer stares at you with the judgment of a thousand code reviews! That disapproving superhero glare screams "In MY day, we typed every character BY HAND, uphill both ways, in a blizzard of syntax errors!" Meanwhile you're just trying to save precious milliseconds of your life that you'll never get back. The sheer DRAMA of being silently judged for efficiency! Heaven forbid we use the tools built into our IDEs!

You start with grand visions of beautiful, maintainable code that will stand the test of time... and end with "yeah whatever, the CEO needs this by Friday so just make it work." The technical debt collectors will be knocking on your door soon enough!

The eternal paradox of programming in its purest form. You spend four years learning algorithms, data structures, and computational theory. Then your production code works by pure accident after you copy-pasted from Stack Overflow at 3 AM. The real magic happens when both your test cases and production mysteriously pass despite having no logical explanation for why. That's when you quietly back away from your keyboard and accept that some cosmic force decided to take pity on your sleep-deprived soul.
