So apparently AI is the shiny new toy everyone's excited about, but somehow it's also the perfect scapegoat for mass layoffs. Companies are out here replacing entire dev teams with "AI agents" while Steve Ballmer over here is doing his best interpretive dance about innovation and cost-cutting.
The real kicker? Those same companies will be desperately hiring back developers in six months when their AI agents start hallucinating production code and suggesting they store passwords in plain text. But hey, at least the quarterly earnings looked good for one quarter, right?
Nothing says "we value our engineering talent" quite like replacing them with a chatbot that confidently tells you to use deprecated libraries from 2015.
