After a lot of testing and research I finally found the okayest code editor. Here are the results 🙂

When you point out a bug in the legacy codebase that everyone's been ignoring for years. The senior devs who built it would rather crucify you than admit they wrote spaghetti code back in 2008. Just like Jesus got the "Shut up!" treatment for speaking truth, you'll get the same for suggesting a refactor. Martyrdom in standup meetings is an occupational hazard.

The special kind of existential dread when you discover a bug that only manifests in production. Your test environment? Perfect. Local dev? Flawless. But deploy that code and suddenly your meticulously crafted masterpiece transforms into a dumpster fire. It's that moment when you realize you'll be spending the next 12 hours frantically trying to reproduce an issue that technically "doesn't exist" in any environment where you can actually debug it. Bonus pain points if it's Friday afternoon!

The duality of a developer's existence captured in two frames! Top panel: You're the unstoppable Hulk, smashing through problems with brute force hacks and questionable solutions. Who cares about best practices when your spaghetti code actually runs? Bottom panel: The crushing reality of code review hits. Suddenly you're the embarrassed Hulk, face-palming as your colleagues discover your 17 nested if-statements, magic numbers, and that comment that says "// TODO: fix this horrible hack before anyone sees it." The ONE WAY sign in the background is the perfect metaphor - there's only one direction after code review: refactoring hell.

The code is a perfect example of why game developers shouldn't be allowed near RNGs unsupervised! 😂 What we're looking at is a glorious mess of Python where someone created two nearly identical functions ( count_greater_than_11 and count_greater_than_5 ) that generate random numbers between 1-20 and increment a counter when the number exceeds a threshold. But wait! The function names and comments don't even match - one says "greater than 11" in the comment but checks for > 10 in the code, while the other claims to check for > 5 but actually checks for > 4! And then there's that lonely is_divisible_by_7 function at the bottom, just hanging out with no apparent connection to anything else. It's like someone started implementing their own version of RNG bias with specific magic numbers, got bored halfway through, and shipped it anyway. This is probably why that boss battle feels unfairly difficult every 7th attempt...
