Because nothing says "I'm a responsible adult with disposable income" quite like using a machine that could run Crysis to play a game from 1990 that originally ran on a 3.58 MHz processor. Bonus points if you spend the next three hours tweaking shader settings and frame interpolation to make those 16-bit pixels look "just right." Your $2,000 investment is now a very expensive SNES. Worth it.

Game devs staring longingly at the corporate jets flying by while their equally skilled counterparts cash six-figure checks. Nothing says "passion for the craft" like trading a decent salary for the privilege of implementing 37 different ragdoll physics systems that players will barely notice. But hey, at least you get to put "Created virtual horse testicles that shrink in cold weather" on your resume.

The evolution of GPU power requirements is getting ridiculous. Remember when a simple 6-pin connector was enough? Now NVIDIA's over here like "Your new graphics card requires *checks notes* breadboard jumper wires and direct access to your local power plant." Next gen they'll just skip the middleman and require you to build a small nuclear reactor in your basement. The RGB lighting alone will probably require its own dedicated circuit breaker.

The AUDACITY of thinking anyone would pay for your passion project! There you are, pouring your SOUL into crafting pixel-perfect gameplay while dressed as a literal clown. 🤡 The indie game dev dream: spend 5,000 hours creating your masterpiece only to sell exactly THREE copies (two of which are your parents). Meanwhile, some kid makes a game about a screaming goat and becomes an overnight millionaire. THE INJUSTICE! But you keep coding anyway, rainbow wig firmly in place, because what else would you do with your tragic existence? At least the circus has good benefits!

Oh sweet merciful motherboard! PC gamers will literally drop $1000 on a fancy graphics card with RGB lighting that looks like a spaceship had a baby with a disco ball, but HEAVEN FORBID they spend $450 on a Nintendo Switch! The audacity! The hypocrisy! It's like watching someone complain about the price of a hamburger while ordering a $15 cocktail. "But my frames per second!" they cry, as they remortgage their house for the latest GPU that will be obsolete faster than you can say "ray tracing."
