And all for the generous salary of "competitive" (read: barely covers your coffee addiction). The brutal truth? They have NO IDEA what these technologies actually do or how they relate. They just copy-paste buzzwords from other job listings and call it a day. Honey, Postgres and React are not interchangeable skills - they're from completely different UNIVERSES! 💅

That one engineer who's been watching too many YouTube tutorials and suddenly thinks they can reinvent Google's infrastructure during a 15-minute standup. The rest of us are just trying to fix our YAML indentation errors while this hero wants to build Kubernetes from scratch. They probably have kubectl aliased to 'k' and think YAML is a personality trait. Both roles are real, both sound made up, and both will be replaced by something even more ridiculous next year. Remember when we were just "programmers"? Simpler times.

The classic management dilemma: "Let's hire a DevOps person" without understanding what DevOps actually is. Six months into the project, you're nodding along in meetings while secretly Googling "what is CI/CD pipeline" under the table. Meanwhile, your infrastructure is held together with duct tape and prayers, but asking basic questions now would reveal you've been faking competence this entire time.
