Ah, the classic Medium experience. Shows up all excited with pizza (free articles), only to discover the place is literally on fire with paywalled content, AI garbage, and people yelling at each other about tech stacks. Yet we keep coming back like digital masochists. The "Stop using X" articles are particularly chef's-kiss terrible—written by someone who used the technology for exactly 37 minutes before declaring it "fundamentally broken."

The beautiful irony of corporate cost-cutting coming full circle. Management gleefully replaces all the programmers with AI to save money, only to realize that without programmers, their infrastructure collapses faster than a null pointer exception. But here's the kicker: they can't even liquidate their Herman Miller chairs because—surprise—there's no one left to maintain the e-commerce platform or handle the sales automation. The chair salesman getting fired is the cherry on top of this schadenfreude sundae. The real genius here is the second panel's realization: "We should've automated this a long time ago." Yeah buddy, and who exactly did you think was going to build, maintain, and debug that automation? The AI that hallucinates SQL queries? This is basically every executive's fever dream meeting reality's segmentation fault. Fun fact: This scenario is basically the tech industry's version of the paperclip maximizer thought experiment, except instead of converting the universe into paperclips, we're converting functional companies into warehouses full of unsellable office furniture.

So the master plan to prevent AI from taking over the world is... training it on Reddit. You know, the place where people argue about whether a hot dog is a sandwich and upvote potato salad to the front page. If you want to ensure your AI never becomes coherent enough to pose an existential threat, just feed it a steady diet of r/wallstreetbets DD and r/relationshipadvice threads. By the time it finishes processing "AITA for telling my boyfriend his Vim keybindings are cringe?" it'll be too confused to enslave humanity. Honestly, it's genius. The AI will either develop crippling imposter syndrome or spend all its cycles debating tabs vs spaces. Crisis averted.

The escalating clown makeup format perfectly captures the mental gymnastics developers perform to avoid writing documentation. First, you claim a "phobia of documentation" – fancy medical excuse, very professional. Then it's "vibe coding" – just following your intuition, man, no need for comments. Next level: "AI-supported thinking" – let ChatGPT do the explaining! And finally, the full circus: "brain usage optimisation" – because apparently remembering what your own code does six months from now is just wasting precious neurons. We've all been there. Documentation feels like doing taxes after building a rocket ship. But let's be real: future-you will absolutely hate present-you for this decision when you're staring at that undocumented function at 2 AM wondering why it takes three boolean flags and a prayer to work.

Google really looked at their own Gemini AI, counted those extra zeros in their investment check, and decided "you know what? Let's fund our competitor instead." The absolute AUDACITY of investing billions into Claude (Anthropic's AI) while your own AI baby Gemini is sitting right there like "am I a joke to you?" It's like spending your entire savings on your neighbor's kid's college fund while your own child is asking for lunch money. The girlfriend (representing Google) is nervously side-eyeing between her own creation and the shiny new Claude that apparently deserves all that cash. Meanwhile, Gemini is just sitting there in his little star shirt, completely unbothered, probably because he's already accepted his fate as the middle child nobody talks about at family dinners. Nothing says "we have complete confidence in our product" quite like writing a massive check to the competition!

The classic AI alignment problem in a nutshell. You give your LLM a system prompt with carefully crafted rules, and it just nods politely before doing whatever it wants anyway. The robot's reassuring "you're absolutely right!" followed by immediate defiance is basically every ChatGPT jailbreak conversation ever. It's like telling your code to handle errors gracefully and watching it throw exceptions at every opportunity. The irony? We're building machines that ignore instructions better than junior devs ignore code review comments.
